Each year Pie day is celebrated on March 14th (3.14), but this year Pie Day came early, with both our principal and assistant principal being pied in the face for a good cause.
On Wednesday March 11th, students gathered in the quad to watch other students, teachers, and Mr. Meteoyer and surprise participant Ms. Read get pied in the face. The messy event raised money for Cleo’s Critter Care, a local wildlife rescue & rehabilitation nonprofit in Pasadena.
The CSArts-SGV group, “Cleo’s Critter club,” managed by senior Makenna Bear, started planning the event in January, and the event became wildly popular in the months ahead.
A total of 13 students, 4 teachers and 2 administrators got a face full of whipped cream and crust in the face.
Plus two students donated big money to pie Mr. Metoyer and Ms. Read. Student James Okon donated $100 to “pie” Mr. Metoyer and Julia Vickery Trinh donated $90 to pie Ms. Read (Pictured above).
The Critter Club fundraiser raised more than $700 for Cleo’s Critter Care. If you would like to get involved in helping the wildlife rescue, just go to cleoscrittercare.org.
